Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time mentor Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to create a third set.

He rescued 4 initial break points in a close third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
